Building a Campus While Classes are in Session

As construction got underway for the new library for the Petaluma Campus of the Santa Rosa Junior College, students were displaced by the large project. BCC General Contractors, Inc. set up 21 temporary classroom buildings, complete with electrical power, telephone and data lines, fire alarms and life/safety equipment. We succeeded in making sure students and faculty had a place to hold classes even though construction took place during the academic year and rainy weather.

The commitment of BCC General Contractors, Inc. to teamwork includes encouraging creative solutions from every worker, manager and designer.

Working with School Superintendents, Principals, and IOR

We work closely with construction managers and the Inspector of Record (IOR) for the Division of State Architecture (DSA) to make sure that construction of school and public buildings is completed as planned.

The standing-seam metal roof of Biella School is supported by pre-engineered glue-lam beams, creating a large canopy over the passageway from classrooms to a covered lunch area. The beams are supported by structural steel columns of different heights along the length of the passageway.

We share ideas in a friendly professional environment so that the crew at BCC General Contractors, Inc. is easy to work with, reliable and effective.

“As an architect and project manager, I've worked over 25 years and Dave Baker is one of the best general contractors I've ever worked with. He's cordial, understandable, and BCC has a great staff internally and externally. BCC invests in good subcontractors and project managers. Dave's a great organizer, enjoyable to work with, and is fair. Give him a call.”
